Cloudflare Workers Logs Pricing: What Changes on December 1, 2026
Until November 30, 2026, Workers Logs is billed per event. Beginning December 1, 2026 it is billed per gigabyte ingested and stored, with one allowance shared across Workers Logs, traces and other Cloudflare logs. Whether your bill goes up or down comes down to one number: how big your average log event is. Every figure below comes from Cloudflare's own documentation, and the calculator runs the same arithmetic.

What actually matters
Events become gigabytes
Today a one-line log and a 200 KB stack-trace dump each count as one event. From December 1 you pay for size. Cloudflare estimates an average Workers log event at 4.84 KB, so 50 GB of included ingestion is only about 10 million average events, roughly half of today's 20 million.
Break-even is about 2.2 KB per event
Past the included allowances, both models cost the same at roughly 2.2 KB per event. Smaller logs get cheaper; bigger ones get more expensive. Logs that carry request metadata or stack traces can easily be larger than that.
7 days for everyone, longer is only planned
After December 1 every plan keeps logs for seven days. Cloudflare says it plans to add configurable 30, 90 and 365-day retention, but that is not available yet.

What people miss
- ▸The allowance is shared. Workers Logs, Workers Traces, Traces, Containers logs, R2 Data Access Logs, AI Gateway logs and Issues all draw on the same 50 GB, so turning on tracing or AI Gateway logging can use up the room your logs had.
- ▸Log size is now the lever. Drop request-body dumps, turn debug logging off in production, and avoid logging whole objects. Under today's rules a single entry is truncated at 256 KB, but from December you pay for every byte.
- ▸The free plan changes shape. 200,000 events a day becomes 0.5 GB a day: at 4.84 KB that is about 103,000 events a day, roughly half as many.
- ▸Today's rules also apply a 1% head-based sample once an account passes 5 billion log events a day.
- ▸Unsampled security datasets are priced separately: $1 per GB ingested, with 30-day retention.
- ▸The calculator treats 1 GB as 1,000,000 KB and assumes seven days of ingestion sit in storage at any moment. Cloudflare's exact metering may differ by a few percent.

FAQ
How much does Workers Logs cost from December 2026?
Beginning December 1, 2026, Workers Logs uses Cloudflare Observability pricing. The Free plan includes 0.5 GB of ingestion per day with seven-day retention. Paid plans include 50 GB of ingestion and 10 GB-month of storage per billing cycle; beyond that it is $0.25 per GB ingested and $0.10 per GB-month stored. Queries, dashboards, alerts and analytics are not charged extra.
Is the new Workers Logs pricing more expensive?
It depends on your average log size. Once you are past the included allowances, the new model costs the same as the old one at about 2.2 KB per event. At Cloudflare's own 4.84 KB average, every million extra events costs about $1.32 instead of $0.60, around 2.2 times as much. Teams that log small, tight lines can pay less. Use the calculator with your real average event size.
Does the Workers Logs retention period change?
Retention becomes seven days on every plan: the Free plan goes from three days to seven, and the Paid plan stays at seven. Cloudflare says it plans to add configurable 30, 90 and 365-day retention in the future, but it is not available today. If you need to search older incidents, you need to keep your logs somewhere else.
What counts toward the shared Observability allowance?
Cloudflare lists Traces, Workers Logs, Workers Traces, Containers logs, R2 Data Access Logs, AI Gateway logs and Issues as sharing the account-level ingestion and storage allowance.
Do I still need FlareLog if Workers Logs is included?
They do different jobs. Workers Logs is where you search your Worker's logs inside the Cloudflare dashboard. FlareLog adds what it does not: email, Slack and Discord alerts the first time a new error appears, cost burn and daily budget alerts, an MCP server so your AI assistant can read production errors, and 90-day search on Pro. FlareLog's free plan is 10,000 logs a month, so for high volumes Workers Logs remains the place your full log stream lives. Many teams use both.
